I'm Monica Rose, a Brazilian-American, non-union actor, singer, writer, and educator based in San Francisco.​

​

 I’ve had the privilege of performing leading roles with renowned companies like Word for Word, Oakland Theater Project, and 42nd Street Moon. See my full resume here

 

I earned a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2023. While at SFCM, I had the privilege of performing roles such as Servilia in La Clemenza di Tito under the direction of James Darrah and Raviv Ullman, and Marmee in Little Women.

Prior to SFCM, I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Music and minors in writing and interdisciplinary studies, which I used to fund research and performance of Brazilian opera. I produced, directed, and starred in the challenging Brazilian opera Domitila, a truly rewarding experience.

​

I’ve had the opportunity to study abroad at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz and was a Fulbright Semi-Finalist for the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Award in Budapest.

​

As a dedicated educator, I empower aspiring artists through private voice lessons and my work with Music Education for Everyone.

​

Beyond my musical pursuits, I have a strong background in writing and communication. I’ve worked as a reading and writing educator, technical writer, and Portuguese-English translator.

​

When I’m not performing or teaching, I enjoy exploring the Bay Area, indulging in various hobbies (rollerblading, biking, painting, knitting...I go through phases!), and learning new languages.
